For your test results please telephone the surgery on 0161 705 1630 after 14:00pm, due to our telephone lines being busy in the morning.
On average please allow 5 working days (1 week) for your test results to come back from the hospital unless your doctor has advised otherwise.
X-Ray Results – The local hospital is currently taking up to 4 weeks to inform us of your X-Ray results.
Smear Tests – The Cytology Department at the hospital is currently taking up to four weeks to inform us of your smear result. You will receive a letter from the Health Authority shortly after this informing you of your result.
Sometimes, the receptionist cannot always give full results over the phone. If the result is complicated, or if the doctor wants to see you about the result, we may offer you a telephone or surgery appointment.
If you are told to see or speak to a doctor after speaking to the receptionist, please book an appointment with the doctor that arranged the test, where this is possible, as this saves a lot of time.
It the event that the result is very abnormal or needs urgent attention we will contact you so make sure that your contact details are up to date.
Please note that due to our confidentiality policy, your results cannot be disclosed to anybody else unless you have made arrangements in advance with the practice for this to be done. Even close family members cannot enquire on behalf of others except parents obtaining results for a child under 16.
